The reimagining of a mid-century family mansion as a modern retail space for home furnishings and accessories involved the conversion of an existing cellular plan of individual rooms into one flowing space for retail. Towards this end, the flooring is visualised as a continuous surface of concrete that is punctuated by a meandering pattern of repeating diamonds, created in white Indian marble that visually connect one space to the other. The ceilings are adorned with scallops of jute ropes laid out to connect one room to another. The bare, painted exposed brick walls and black line detailing are a neutral backdrop for the more ornamental artefacts that are on display.
