DESIGN CONCEPT
Due to much needed and strict environmental guidelines that prevent the development of the floodplains of estuaries and rivers, two crumbling buildings from a previous era are rebuilt with an extra floor to house recreational facilities on the river’s edge. Full height glazing with column free corners provides users with spectacular, uninterrupted views of the water while also making the two buildings appear transparent and light.
MATERIAL PALETTE
- Beton brute style exposed concrete monocoque structure
- Exposed steel beams and corrugated metal deck flooring
- Infill full-height glazing panels and natural green wall panels
- Landscape elements using locally available and shaped laterite stone
