An attempt to reconnect the private life of the living quarters with the public nature of the city street. Abandoned and crumbling wrought iron balconies are restored with reclaimed Bengal hurricane shutters from the same property and perforated metal screens giving the residents the opportunity to reconnect with the street. The ground floor is converted into a bespoke café, the interiors being a combination of exposed brick ceilings from yesteryear, industrial diamond patterned mesh screens, green walls assembled with local plants and reclaimed wood, and floors of rough stone reminiscent of a traditional street café.
